Breast cancer

Felt lump in 2002

Diagnosed in 2005 at age 39

Got pregnant at agfe 39 and advised to abort by oncologist and gynecologist because of how fast cancer spreads when tou are pregnant.

Bluntly refused.....doesn't line up with the plan of God

Baby girl is now 2yrs, 3mths old and very healthy... so am I.

After the diagnosis I have never been back to a doctor, have had no surgery, radiation or chemotherapy. Think I'm crazy? I certainly am not.

Tumor is slow growing and will soon disappear forever.

Why?

I believe in the power of natural medicine and the power of God.

Changed my diet from acidic to highly alkaline...for life....no meat, dairy, sugar, flour etc. Not easy because most of what we eat is acidic but it's worth it. Couldn't use the more powerful herbs when I was pregnant so I had tons of juiced carrots. Really worked.

Use tumeric, green tea, lots of grapes, garlic, aloe, parsley, herb teas, wheatgrass, kelp, fruit and vegetable juices, olive oil, flax seed, cayenne, ...any cancer fighting herb, tried cantron once but didn't use long enough to see results ( very expensive in the West Indies) herbal parasitic cleansers, NO MARKETING HERE water, herbal blood purifiers like red clover. I detox often. Have move raw than cooked food

Now trying NONONONO alone. Giving it six months before I can vouch for it. Will keep you posted.

My advise is: Do not put your faith in any doctor or cure even if it is herbal, but place all your hope and trust in God. He has seen me through this far and He never fails you. Don't give up. I will never.

Love you all'
Spiritlead.

spiritlead,

1. My wife was recently diagnosed with stage iv breast cancer which had spread to brain among other places!

2. pregnant, option of abortion introduced, but never encouraged by physicians, oncologists. in fact, plan of action seemed always to be to help baby to a certain point AND treat mother. we are firmly in the belief that GOD was responsible for bringing the medical/social professionals and team together that helped my wife. PERIOD. Another curious thing is that the ONLY people that I thought questioned our decision to keep the baby were the most religious among us...

3. GOD IS GREAT! But if you think that all this knowledge is to be ignored or dismissed, then you fail to see one of the many ways that GOD helps us to help ourselves

4. All your faith in GOD alone, why the diet change and herbs? Both indications that you are using the knowledge and resources that GOD has provided us.

5. And you and I, and many others know that our faith alone does not guarantee that everyone will be spared. I am still trying to cope with this fact. There are some who do not share our faith and rely on the medicines and technology and advice given to them. As people of faith, our duty is to offer hope that is most meaningful "in this world." God will take care of the rest.

6. Your tumor is slow growing. So, it is not shrinking? You pray that it will disappear on its own. God willing, not your willing. I pray that it will. But please do not presume to think that you know what GOD's will is for you or anybody else.

7. My wife is cancer free! My new born daughter is healthy! I thank GOD, the compassionate physicians and nurses and the compassionate people who continue to make hope a reality for people of and those w/o faith.

I apologize if I sound a little harsh. One of many things I learned from this chapter in my life is that the most religious among us sometimes provide some of the most myopic advice and words of encouragement. God didn't bring us into this world to accept the inevitability of death dismissively. God provides us with many tools to help deal with this natural world. We need to do a better job utilizing them and HIM as we struggle to maintain hope, health...

As per emphasis: I believe in the power of GOD and believe that diet has an enormous impact in how and what our bodies respond to. But I also believe that all this knowledge that we have gained to help fight diseases is also a gift from GOD!

Hi --

I can't help but to interject a little into this interesting discussion. First and foremost you need to know that I truly believe in the line of the Lord's Prayer that "thy will be done." That being said, God did not place us here without a brain and I'm pretty sure he wants us to use that for thoughtful decisions.

Congratulations to both posters on having two precious daughters born to you.

For Spiritlead, I have to say that when you choose to have a child, you are responsible to take care of yourself to see to it that you are around to raise that child. For someone so fortunate to have limited and slow growing cancer to not take advantage of appropriate proven treatment flies in the face of logic and responsibility. There are so many who would give their eye-teeth to be in your position and have a very curable cancer in an area with an 85% survival rate.

I guess I'm posting this as a caveat to others who may stop by and read your non-traditional choices and embrace them with possible lethal consequences. It goes to the old saying that playing with fire gets you burned.

I hope things continue to go well for you on this path, but would encourage you to seek the help of doctor's that God has given curative solutions to. I guess I'm on the same thought track as MyMaria, without being nearly so eloquent.

My only real question is did you have a biopsy to get your initial diagnosis?

PBJ

I tend to agree with mymaria although I would not have put it so forcefully. I do tend to believe in a wholistic (yes, with the “w”) approach to cancer. I believe in using all the tools God has given us: our faith, the nature around us, and our brains from which we can develop so many new medicines from the things that God has given to us directly or indirectly.

I am glad you are doing so well without recourse to modern medicine. Nevertheless, I know too many people of great faith that did not do so well… including both of my parents who died of cancer.

spiritlead, everyone else,

I do apologize for my tone.

My reaction to the original post only re-reminded me of the most disappointing and, frankly, "useless" elements of our support-system during the darkest days of my wife's battle.

Having NEVER lost hope (i dare not allow myself to), the most "religious" around me proved to be the most unsupportive and only negligibly pro-active.

I do pray that your tumor is tamed by God's power and that you will never face the grim prospects that my wife once had to face. To this day as I watch my wife recover, I am haunted by what I had to consider, see.

I am sorry...
