| Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. My starts his treatments on Tuesday (Sept. 2nd) and will go three days in Row with next Friday being the day he receives the medicine to help counteract the Chemo. My Mom is taking him Tuesday and Wed. and I am taking him on Thursday. Its actually really convenient for me since his Treatment Center is only a mile down the street from my office. Crossing fingers and praying hard....... |

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. My Dad went though his first round of Chemo this week and so far has come through nicely. I picked him up yesterday and he looks good. I ask asked him if he has felt bad at all and so far he said that he hasn't felt any effects from the Chemo. Sure it will hit him sooner or later but so far so good.
He has also gained five pounds back and says that his stomach isn't hurting anymore which I hope means that the Chemo is doing what it is suppose to and shrinking the tumor that is on his Pancreas.
keeping fingers crossed! |

jmikec,
Hey -- one round down is always good news. Glad to hear the infusions went smoothly for him. Just make sure he stays super-hydrated and takes his anti-nausea meds regularly. It's far easier to stay ahead of any nausea reactions then to try and play catch-up after it starts. If it starts.
I hope the next several days are smooth sailing for him. Gaining weight is ALWAYS a good sign.
Keep us posted and he'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

|
|
All,
I know that it has been awhile since I have posted anything, I have been very busy with work and my family with all of this that I just haven't had to time to keep up with my tread on this site. However, I felt the need to post this morning. My family probably received the best news that we could have ever hoped for on Friday (10-31-0 morning. My father went in for the results of his most recent CAT SCAN and the Oncologist was speechless. He told my father that there was a "Striking Improvement" and that all Cancer nodes that had shown up in August on the CAT SCAN and PET SCAN are gone. His largest Node was in his Lung and was 5.1 Cent. with a smaller one in his Pancreas. The Oncologist has decided to keep him on his treatment schedule as planned with Chemo for three more cycles to ensure that he hits any cancer cells that may remain.
I don't think that I have seen my Father smile as much as he did this weekend in years. I hope this means that we get to keep him around a little while longer!
Thanks for taking the time to read. |

Hi,
Oh what wonderful news! Doing happy dances for you and your Dad. I know the joy of seeing them smile and feel like "normal" for even brief periods of time. Treasure this time and I hope he continues to rock the house with his response to the treatment.
Thanks so very much for sharing. We ALWAYS need good news here!
God bless,
