The liver specialist we saw today for mom said that so far he doesnt believe the colon cancer metastisized to her liver.-he thinks the new founded cancer about 2cm was possibly a result from her therapies?? or is a new cancer on its own?? he will know more after the surgery and a test is performed on the nodule.
She also had 2 benign nodules -so he said not taking any chances he is schedualing surgery in sept to remove all 3 which will cover 40% of her liver. He would rather remove it then give them a chance to become cancerous. I know the liver can recover and regenerate -Im more worried about the trouble she has with dangerous blood clots. So with this in mind it makes the not so complicated surgery complicated . I think it would be wise to see if any of us can be a donor blood match and have a little extra on hand. Also because her body rejects chemo and ports and ivs he has to work on alternate ideas such as maybe radiotherapy -she did tolorate regular radiation but we dont know if it did any good. we will see. doent matter if anyone has anything to add to this -I just needed to say it to someone since mom doesnt even want relatives to know yet.
