My mom just called me. Her follow up today wasn't as good as we wanted. Her Oncologist told her that the x rays (after 4 cycles of chemo) don't show improvements. He asked her if she wanted to stop chemo or what. She doesn't cough as much as before and she feels better. But she said -Why am I going to give up?-. So she starts Monday again, I always knew this is my mom, she is fighting!!!

On the other hand, he sees a very little lession in the liver and no mets. Can be possible that the tumor had stopped and yet had not reduced??????

She has problems with acid reflex and takes medicine for it. Can lung cancer be related with a liquid she feels that sometimes comes up to her mouth when she coughs??????

I asked her if she wanted to have a second opinion just in case, she says she will think about it.

The doctor didn't say that it's getting worse which was my statement to comfort her. It breaks my heart to hear her crying.

If anyone knows anything about my questions please let me know.

Praying for you,
Tica

Hi Tica;
It sounds like good news Tica, there are so many things we can worry about while we are fighting cancer if we want to dwell on it. Having cancer is a fight that in most cases we loose, but until we do, we keep trying to beat it. If there is no growth that's a win, the oncologist will scratch there heads and look up the newest treatments that work and find another chemo treatment that works better. The doctors should welcome you to get a second opinion, there shouldn't be any egos here, just people that want the best treatment for your mom. So it sounds at least that the cancer is some what arrested so that is good news. I'll be praying for you and your mom.
God Bless
Dan

I might get a second opinion. Everyone I know thinks that is always a good idea. Seems doctors all use different methods of treatments. Your Mom is so young yet.

I will be thinking of you and praying for her and family.
