Hi Nick, let me preface this by saying that I am NOT a doctor, just a caregiver for my wife Lori, who has been battling stage IV cancer for the last three years. Because of this, I have had to take in a whole lot of information, and I'm happy to share it, but of course, any treatment decisions your father-in-law makes should be between him and his Oncologist.
That said, you're probably thinking about angiogenesis inhibitors...angiogenesis is the process that tumors, and a number of other tissues in the body, use to recruit new blood vessels...without active angiogenesis it has been shown that tumors can not grow beyond a quite small size, as they just do not have access to the blood suply needed. There are a number of new pharmaceutical versions of these inhibitors that are in clinical trials as we speak, and there are quite a few botanical ones also, including EGCG from green tea, EPA & DHA from fish oil (omega 3s,) curcumin, boswellia and any number of the natural anti-inflammatories. If you do a web search for some of these, and the keywords "angiogenesis inhibitor", I think you'll find a ton of useful information.
Best to you and your father-in-law, _________________ -Cary |

Dear Nick,
First of all, a diagnosis has to be made. Maybe it's cancer, maybe it is infection. So a biopsy is probably what is necessary to find out what it is and what specific type of cancer it is so it can be treated adequately.
best regards,
