hi,

to make a long story short, i am disabled and my best friend is my "therapy pet" who was given cancer. i will let everyone know right now that if anyone says "put her to sleep" i'll get VERY pissed off. no one would suggest to put a beloved spouse or kid to sleep----so, do not even go there.

my question is this. my dear little kitty who has tummy and intestinal cancer was not a biter. she bit me about 10-12x in 9 years, while playing rough with her. now since being diagnosed with cancer in april and being put on sterroids and chemo meds she's turned into a big time biter.

someone told me his father's personality changed after he got cancer and got put on meds. and, another person told me her brother's kitty went thru the same mood change. i'm trying to gather information and proof that meds DO this to people and animals for those who do not believe it's possible. her vet said "this effects dogs and doesn't ususally effect cats". i'll have to see her other vet soon and see what she says.

thanks for any info you may have on mood changes after being put on meds after cancer.

Emily

Hello

Steroids are very well-known to sometimes cause what is known as "steroid psychosis", but it also causes agitation, insomnia and such. Maybe your pet is biting you because of that, but it's hard to know.

regards,
Leo
