After being told and operated on (full hysterectomy etc) for "ovarian cancer" it turns out I had -and have - cancer of the appendix- for lack of proper medical terminology. I've finally had enough whatever : Confused to try and find some info. Now that I've got another oncologist specializing in the gastric area, answers are a lot more forthcoming and clearer, but has anyone actually had one of these things taken out? Apparently, mine was mostly jello-like stuff, which they siphoned out 2L of and when I came to, I'd lost nearly 30 lbs Very Happy . Can't tell if my sense of "emptiness" is due to the weight loss, the confusion, the fact that it is now part of my life or all of the above. Physical recovery - with the exception of sudden "persinkables" - seems to be okay, but it's just NOW that the emotional impact of everything is hitting. Plus, never knowing what my "boundaries" were in ordinary life, I can't tell when I blow them now until it's too late. I guess it's all individual. Surprised

Hi! My name is Esther, and I have been diagnosed with Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Appendix (PMP) The pmp.org website is very helpful. Please research this site. You must see a specialist and they have a list of specialists for Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them if I can. Smile
