Hi all

Within the last 2 weeks my mothers abdoman inlfated so she couldnt even do her trousers up, and back hurt.

I fog marched her to her GP (tuesday)and pushed so much he calls the hospital and she was told to come straight upto Surgical Assessment.

Shes had an ultrasound and she was told they couldnt see anything un toward.
Apparently they dont just look at the overies but all abdominal bits and bobs.

I pushed for a CA 125 marker test and the results came back today as 1071

I know this sint good, ive done my homework for days.

She sheduled for a CT today, adn they are draining some sample fluid from her tummy for biopsy adn all that jazz.
They tried to do it bed side whilst I was there, but the doc said it was too thick?? and may have to do it under a local??

Anyways, how bad is 1071 I have searched net and cant find result charts?? are we talking stage 4 cancer here??

Just want to prepair myself.
From day 1 I said it was cancer (done my homework on her symptoms), as anything else (less) would have been a bonus, and its better to be realistic.

Any info/stories/compassisums about 1071 level would REALLY help.

I lsot my dad May 2005 without warning due to heart failure at 67, and now this happens to mum (ages 65).

Love to all you suffers XXXXXX

tracievans, I am very sorry about your mother's health concerns. Keep working with her medical team in order to diagnose her problem. A CA 125 of 1071 is certainly high however, I am not sure how helpful it is in the diagnosing or staging of the cancer, if it is cancer.

Let us know what you find out. I am thinking about and praying for your mother.

im sorry to hear about your mother..i know what its like to be waiting to find out whats going on...my mom had the same thing happen..she couldnt fit into her jeans anymore cause her tummy was to big..my dad pushed and pushed her to go to the doctors, they had to take fluid out and see what they could find...and they found out she had the cancer...even tho she has cancer she is in chemo and everytime she goes back the cancer keeps going down...your mom seems as stubbern as mine..i hope things turn out okay for the both of you..but if she does have cancer there are alot of options that she can do to help treat it...tell me what happens, good luck
