DG-
I also use micropore tape, and tape around the edge of the barrier before going in the water. The saltwater seems to eat away at the adhesive from the edge inwards, so the tape, while not waterproof (the adhesive on the tape IS waterproof, but the tape itself lets water through) holds the barrier in place...for a while. I tend to lose track of time and there isn't much that will hold it in place for more than 3 hours of surfing/windsurfing. So keep the "fly-away kit" in the car.

I was remodeling my lanai and was about to get one of those sweet inflatable jacuzzis...then I thought about it: heat and water and bubbles, the perfect combination to melt the adhesive. I don't think anyone would go back into the jacuzzi after a colostomergency like that. I'll just buy another surfboard.

RH - you always make me laugh!

Colostomergency!!!!

I think you made that word up! Just the thought in a jacuzzi ..........too hilarious.....

As for the new surf board - I suspect you must be like me with Dulcimers - in the Dulcimer world we call it DAD (Dulcimer Aquisition Disease) - it's simply any excuse to buy a new Dulcimer and add a new "voice" to one's musical collection....

I see a new surf board in your future....
Cheers
