MD Anderson is doing a clinical trial with curcumin in pancreatic cancer.... Dr Aggarwal from MD Anderson was also part of a team at MD Anderson which published a study on how curcumin (the active ingredient in the spice turmeric) inhibs nF-Kappa B and other pathways in human melanoma cells in vitro....

I take curcumin in capsule form with bioperine (needed to increase bioavailabilty -- i.e. pass the stomach lining) twice a day -- I've had no adverse effects whatsoever.... I also cook with it and plan to eat curried food with turmeric everyday .....curcumin is the ingredient within turmeric which is believed by Dr Aggarwal at MD Anderson, Integrative Medicine, to possess anti-cancer properties....

My younger sister has already taught me how to make curried deviled eggs (but must add black pepper to the olive oil and turmeric)..... I also take coromega orange flavored Omega-3 supplements (they are great when added to a smoothie or plain yogurt) and put flax seed in my morning oatmeal.....I've replaced most of my coffee intake with Green Tea and I take garlic and milk thistle twice a day.... and celebrex (never thought I would be glad to have an arthritic hip).... Object is to reduce inflammation within body which is believed to be a pathway for cancer .....I've also eliminated most of the sugar from the diet (most but not all).... Strange thing is that I hardly miss any of it

Will any of this help in the end ? Who knows, but the Chinese and the Indians had more advanced cultures than the US and Europe way back in the day..... and their cancer rate is far less than the West's ....

I used turmeric, but am not at all convinced that it showed any benefit. It may help in preventing development of a condition, but not help in treating it.

Alas, yes - a recurrence of skin met growth. Of course, the reports are to do with melanoma, which is not the same thing as skin mets, so it may well be beneficial in holding off melanoma.
