I'm 45 yrs old and have been postmenopausal for almost 2 years. About 3 weeks ago I experienced about 3 days of moderate bleeding which led to the discovery of a 5cm solid ovarian mass with mild ascites. The only other symptom I've been having is extreme bloating. My CA125 came back normal (a 7). I'm scheduled for surgery in a couple of weeks and my gyn/onc said that they won't know what it is until they get in there. I guess my question is how likely is it that this is cancer? I'm pretty confused about the whole thing as I feel perfectly fine (aside from looking about 4 months pregnant). Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hi~ i don't have ovarian cancer, but my mom has been fighting it for 3 years now. she has clear cell ovarian cancer and was also diagnosed with breast cancer at the same time. the breast cancer has been in remission for 2 years. she is still fighting the ovarian. there is always hope! try not to worry until you know for certain that there is something to worry about. i wish you the best of luck with your surgery. my thoughts and prayers are with you!
