I'm going to start from the beginning so it's all easier to understand. I went from January to April of not having a period, in April I finally had a 2 week one and then did not have my period again until August. I have been bleeding SINCE August and it's now November. My new doctor (who is great) prescribed me Yasmin as a way to stop the bleeding. It didn't work and I've continued to bleed so he ordered me an transvaginal ultrasound.
These are the U/S results:
The Ultrasound showed that I had exuberant endometrial hyperplasia and an enlarged endometrial stripe that was 17 mm. My ovaries are normal, the right measures 2.2 x 2.8 x 1.7 and the left is 2.5 x 2.5 1.9 The ultrasound paper says that cancer could not be ruled out in this patient. The only reason my doctor is not concerned that this is cancer is because I'm only 22 years old. But I have to go around Christmas (1.5 cycles) for another ultrasound and "follow up study".
On top of these I'm overweight with a toddler, I also am prediabetic, and I have PCOS. With all the bleeding I've had large blood clots, though I had not passed any for 2 weeks and this weekend I was doubled over in pain for an hour until I passed it. It has been SO very, very, very painful. I can't touch my abdomen because it starts hurting again. The pain alternates from my left side to my right but normally it's my left side that hurts. The blood smells not like menstrual blood at all. It's runny and there's often watery discharge along with it. The thing is I can't stop bleeding.
Should I be worried about my ultrasound results? Does this sound like endometrial cancer or am I just thinking the worst?
Any and all responses are extremely appreciated. Thank you. |

Hi Jessa, I am so sorry about your health problems. Just yesterday or the day before another 20 year older asked about endometrial cancer. Her situation was a little different because she had a multi generational family history of early endometrial cancer.
I do not know what it is you have. My advice is to continue to work with your medical team. I would not want a doctor to tell you that you are too young for any type of cancer.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

Hi Jessa,
Welcome...Your condition may be something as "simple" as fibroids, but you are not too young to get cancer. As a women diagnosed with uterine cancer two years ago, I have learned some things that if I had known, the cancer would had been detected much earlier. You need to rule out cancer, ask your doctor for an "endometrial biopsy"...this is one of the more effective and reliable way of detecting cancer of the uterus. The bleeding along with a watery discharge is not normal, but fibroids can cause this or something else other than cancer. Believe for the best for now, but pursue answers anyway until cancer is ruled out. Please keep us posted, you are in my prayers.

Hi Jessa,
I'm agreeing with all of the post. It could be something like fibroids or even Endemetrois (s?) which can appear at any stage and any age.
Your never too young for Cancer- which is sad and horrible.
But your doing the right thing getting it checked out. I also think a biopsy is a great idea, if needed.
Good Luck in the results and try not to stress too much ( i know- ).
Let us know how it goes. _________________ Thinking of you Inica
