hi, i am cindy, and i am concerned about an abnormal sonogram report
from july/07 that showed endo stripe thickness of 1.5 cm. i wasn't
told about this by the doctor who ordered the tests. i have since been
seeing a new doctor who referred me to a gyn, based on the abnormal
tests, and spotting between periods. i am scheduled for a hysteroscopy
and d & C feb. 4. but i am going to worry myself to death by then. the
gyn's first question for me was what is the reason for the delay, the
tests in 7/07, and only seen her on 1/18/08. i explained. does anyone
out there know about the normal ranges of thickness. i am 35, have 2
kids. still have a period. though often it is early, and lasts a
little longer. thanks. |

Hi jotay02, I am very sorry about your health concerns. I do not have any idea about the answer to your question. I would encourage you to continue to work with your medical team to determine what is wrong... if there is something wrong. Keep use informed. _________________ Jim

thanks for your reply. please anyone out there having similar problems please talk to me. i am a smoker, and have been having mostly right side pelvic pain, that can be quite intense, for almost a year now, off and on. i have read in a few places, where women's endo stripes were much bigger than mine, and they had cancer, i wasn't really too worried about it, until both of my new dr.s reacted the way they did. when i met the gyn, i asked her if at this point was there much reason for me to be concerned with cancer, she quickly replied YES. i started to tear up, and she didn't try tocomfort me. maybe this is her style, i don't know, but ever since then, i have felt like i was planning for an end. like i said, this is driving me crazy. |

Hi Joy
I can understand how you feel, cause a few weeks ago i was in the exact same postion . I am 33 years and an ultrasound in july showned thickness of 1.6cm and last week i went to a new doc. and the ultrasound showed 14.cm or 14mm. normally when it is that thick it is cause for concern esp if u have homonal problems such as pcos. and over 35 years old. If she suggest a biosye do it. I had mine done on tuesday and waiting for response. So i know u are worried but if u do what you have to do you will be fine. |

thanks, i did have a d&C on feb. 4. the dr. removed a 1.5 cm polyp. on feb 13 i got a call from her. turns out the pathologist found atypical hyperplasia(multifocal atypia). she is suggesting a hysterectomy. i am devastated. i wanted at least one more child. i haven't had the surgery yet, i am suppose to get back with her at the end of the month to schedule things, she wanted me to check into foster care, and try to accept it, so i won't have as much trouble with the depression. thanks for your reply. let me know how things go with you. |
