81 year old Uncle has CLL. What is this ?

Hi, He's had this leukemia for over 25 years now and was in remission I think they call it that. It came on him in one week big time. He has kidney disease the doctor has said and his urine is a dark tea color. The treatment was Chemotherorapy and the kind that doesn't make your hair fall out. They gave him four pints of blood two weeks ago. He's in Baptist Hospital in Nashville Tennessee. Found out today that he has CLL Leukemia kind.

Hi Billie. I am very sorry about your uncle's cancer. My father died in Sept 2006 of ALL. He also had heart problems and was at Baptist Hospital in Nashville for several weeks.

You and your uncle are in my thoughts and prayers.

My uncle also has right now kidney Acute Renal Failure and his doctors will not tell us if he going to live or die.

Is there anyway you can get someone to be the carer/legal gardian- what ever where you have legal rights to be told these important details. ????

My uncle's sister has the legal rights for his care. She had him get all the legal paper work set-up from his lawyer two years ago. The doctors are not telling her anything about his medical future for some reason.

If you really- want to know- then time to be aggressive and come right out, make anappointment, and state - I have legal rights to know what is happening to Billi's future medical treatments, health and care etc.

They could be blocking it for a reason too, they may not know, or trying to spare you. Or just covering themselves. grrrr.

We have been told by a nurse of his that he is going to die. His doctor's never would say anything. The nursing home that he is in has told my aunt that the nurse had no right telling my aunt anything about him dying even if it's true. She got the info from his medical chart. He has a inlarge spleen and some kidney failure.

Bob, I'm so sorry to hear of your Uncles sad news.

I hope the news is correct (or really not correct). What i mean is,. I hope the nurse knows what she is talking about.
