| I went to the dermatologist and he told me the results of the biopsy I had done. I have a Nodular Melanoma with a depth of 6.1 mm. Very deep. He says very likely it has already spread internally because of the depth. He referred to me to a cancer center for more specialized testing to determine if it has indeed spread. It's not looking good. I could very well be at an advanced stage already. |

Don't lose hope- or faith.
I'm so sorry to hear of your sad news. It's scary and freaky and down right- not fair. BUT don't lose hope. As you can see by many post and threads. It's not all bad.
Have a read of SodaPop's post. He was all out told he was going to die- and soon. Every thing (still hope is) is great with him.
There is many fantastic uplifting stories here, and many sad ones. What i've seen in the time i've been here. Is kick-arse attitude. If you got it, use it. Now is the time. A great attitude and fight gets you far.
Keep us in touch with what is happening with treatment, Dr's etc. And remember, you can always rant and rave here- we all been there. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

Have to agree with In, its not good to have it that deep. But remember that it might not have spread further. Mine was the size of a nickel, but 4.5mm deep. Mine didn't spread past the site of the melanoma. I just unfortunately had a very bad pathologist that made me go through a second operation I didn't need.
You get the best you can, they know more about this and can offer alot of guidance. I wish I had went to MD Anderson or at least got them to exam the lymph node.
I will be praying for you. _________________ Jim

Hey Caliguy
Take a bunch of deeeeep breaths and try to relax.
Your mind is the most important tool in your arsenal.
Try not to get too far ahead of your tests, scans, etc. results.
Stay positive. If you have to scream, SCREAM.
Stomp, kick, cry, whatever it takes.
Then its time to suck it up, dig in, and get ready to go toe to toe.
