Hello all. Currently the treatment of cancer includes surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, gene therapy and etc.

I would like to ask besides these few types of treatments, is there any other types of treatments that are being discussed lately? For prevention of cancer, what could be the few methods to prevent cancer?

Thanks. Smile

you mean actual scientific research or just people writing about prevention? The answer is both.

A search on Google Scholar fro "cancer prevention" produces this: http://tinyurl.com/4mkzss

There is some very interesting work being done, but much of it is still so much in the initial stages that it cannot be yet regarded as applicable.

As to further or alternative means of treatment, again there is always work being done. In Germany, for instance, there is research being done into the possible uses of frankincense. But many of these lines of research eventually run into a dead end are abandoned.

Hi shuzhen

Well for one there is the pap virus vaccine which will prevent cancer of the cervix. Thats about the only thing I can think of that will prevent cancer, but then I have chemo brain Smile might need to look that up !

As far as prevention is concerned one needs to be as healthy as possible to reduce your risks. Try and eat fresh food and avoid processed, tinned, and plastic covered food like the plague. Other than that just hope it doesn't come your way. Don't smoke and don't drink and I rekon you will go a long way to preventing cancer....ah isn't hindsight a wonderful thing !!!!!
