As many of you know my father is battling Cancer, he was hospitalized on Monday morning with a severe asthma attack, his hemoglobin was 6 at the time, he has been getting blood transfusion but since two days ago he has been having bad episodes of asthma and short of breast, last night at 1 am he wanted to call me to say good bye. My heart is breaking in one million pieces...I am sure going to miss my dad.

How do you cope, how do you offer support when your own heart is breaking and crushing???

karolynca, my hard breaks with yours. I am so sorry that your father is deteriorating so much. My mother also had asthma along with her brain cancer. It did make her situation more complicated. She was put on morphine to decrease her sense of struggling to breath. She eventually went into a coma and then died in here sleep.

You and your father are in my thoughts and prayer.

Thanks so much Jim, I just returned from seeing him, since I am 6 months pregnant I cannot stay, I had to get a private nurse to stay with him. His face is so sucked in Crying or Very sad he looks so fragile, so old...so given up. His voice is also less strong and he is not talking much....poor dad....this is my first child and I had so many hopes that he could see the baby however if it's time for him to go...I guess there is nothing I can do Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Dear Karolynca,

My heart aches for you! I know exactly how you're feeling, I lost my Mom on June 1st. It was the worst day of my life. All I can tell you is just love him, tell him that you love him, tell him what a good Dad he's been and how much you've appreciated all that he's done for you. It's OK to cry too, he'll understand. Follow your heart, anything and everything is OK. And know that you are not walking this path alone. Many of us have been where you are now, I just wish I was there to give you a hug. Stay strong sweetie! You Dad has a great daughter!

I was thinking the very same thing . Say what you need to say, know that he'll be there when your child is born. And will always be looking over you. He'll be your own Gardian Angel.
