This is my second US within a week, first one was good, but the second one showing a 4 x 2cm mass, they dont know what it is, so one more CT scan of liver, my question is, is it a BIG MASS ( 4.1 x 2.1 cm exactly) ? if it is cancerous, cant Ultrasound tell that? plz help

An ultrasound can say there is something abnormal there but it cannot tell the difference between a benign tumor and a malignant tumor (cancer). To do that, they will have to do a biopsy. Keep working with your medical team to try to identify that mass.

They can sometimes tell with CAT/MRI scans depending where it is in the liver. I have a 5cm cyst on the left interior lobe that they say is fluid filled. A biopsy is always the best way to know for sure. Press them for more answers maybe?

An ultrasound can also tell the difference between a solid mass (tumor) and a fluid filled cyst. Sorry to not have made that clear.
