Hello forum,
I am very concerned about the health of my sister.
She is 31 years old, lately she had some problems with her period and went to see a doctor, he found 3 "bags" before her uterus, we are waiting for the IRM image to see if there is something malicious.
What do you think?
I read that the endometrical cancer is 90% in caucasian women. what are the risks? anybody has an idea?
we are waiting for the image on wednesday, but due to my very worrying nature i am deeply concerned.
Any information is gladly welcomed. |

Hi jackywing. I hear your concern and am very sorry about your sister's health problems. I am not sure what you mean by "bags." I assume these are fluid filled cysts in which case they are probably not associated with cancer. Cysts are fairly common things. More often than not they do not cause problems. However, depending on where the are, they can indeed be dangerous. Cervical or endometrial cysts can and often do cause women to have problems.
I would not be overly concerned about cancer at this point. Of course, you will not know for sure until the result of the tests. I am not sure what an IRM is... maybe an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)?
You and your sister are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

Thank you brainman for your reply.
I guess we should wait for the test results.
I mean by IRM --> MRI, it is the same but i mix up and sometime use french words.
I hope the results will be positive. |

I feel for you and your sister. Try not to worry, as it can cause more problems- i know hard.
I too think Jim is right, You wont know till you get the results. Has she had pap smears too? If you are still worried ask for some biopsies.
Let us know how things go- thinking of you both.

The thing is that I don't know too much about stuff like that. PAP ??
All i know is that she has problems with her period, usually they are seprated by 30+ days. she was seeing a doctor to regulate this, and she made the hormones test but still waiting for the results on Friday.
Cancer ruined our life too many times. I don't know my father because of cancer, i was 2 years old when he died. Also, my grandfather, my aunt and my uncle. different places but the same cancer.
I hope i won't have to deal with the same thing again.
I know i should not worry and i should wait for the results, however sometimes when i am alone i think of the possibility of losing one of the precioust things in my life. We are a little family, me, my sister and my mother and we are very close.
It is only one day for the results - hoping for the best - as always. |

Hi Jacky, I hear you when you say you do not want to face cancer of any kind again. One of my maternal uncles, my maternal grandmother, my paternal grandfather, a cousin, and my own parents died because of cancers. I am a cancer survivor. My family has been through it too. It is not easy. I can better understand your concern now.
You and your sister are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

When I said PAP smear- it is where they take a smear of the cervix and test it for STD's, infections and Cancer.
If she is seeing someone then she is already in good hands, The MRI will show everything and anything. So it's the right path so far- Keep up the positive thoughts and don't worry too much ( i Know easy said then done), But stress can make more problems.
Good Luck- let us know how the results go.
