Rose, I was hoping that one of our female members would have replied first. Sometimes if I reply others think that the issue has been adequately addressed so the move on.

I do not know the answer to your concern so I can only speak in generalities. With other surgeries, sometimes scar tissue can cause pain. However, I do not know about breast surgery.

Hopefully, someone else will reply very shortly.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I think it's just something I'll have to live with. And that's the key word. LIVE.
I was told that the breast tissue is very sensitive so I think it's normal, but mention it to yor Dr.anyway.
Smile Ellen

Any operation will interfere with the tissues involved, which includes nerves, and it takes far longer for them to recover than one is generally told. Twinges of pain often follow operations.

However, if they are persistent and uncomfortable, I agree that you should see your doctor about them.

If you had rads, you will more than likely have sporadic, ongoing pain. The golden rule is...if the symptom last for more than two weeks, then you need to have it checked. Pain is always an indication that something is not right; however, in your instance, you are recovering from some mighty heavy treatments and procedures. Your body needs time to heal...and it could take years. If you had rads, your breast will have changes going on for a number of years. I still get periodic pains and tenderness at the side of the breast, near the armpit...my rads were in 2003. It comes and goes.
