Cyberknife....wow Tommy - sounds very progressive, I'll have to google it to learn more. Good for you - don't give up at all - keep fighting and finding the BEST and latest technology to help you.

I had some of my cells sent out to California for testing - to see which chemo drugs my cancer cells are most sensitive to - I certainly hope it helps my doctors figure out the best chemo to use.

Thanks for being our Guinea Pig! I certainly will keep you in my prayers and I will specifically pray for your CEA markers to decrease.

Stay strong
Cheers

I had my consult for the Cyberknife. They are going to use external beam radiation on my chest area to treat the "nodules" in my lungs (widespread). Then put me in the Cyberknife to treat the larger tumors. Looks promising, and the Dr. is sure it will help me. And when they are done with my lungs, they want to work on the tumors in my liver. I think anyone with any solid tumor should investigate this. It may be the "magic bullet" we are all hoping for.
Stay well....

update for everyone. I've been in and out of the ER for the last 3 weeks. I had fluid build up in my abdominal cavity and was unable to eat or hardly breathe. they put something in called a "Denver Cathador" and drained off 1750 ML of fluid. I now have to drain it every day or two and get around 500 ML per day. this is not good news for me and I've lost 35 pounds in a month. I'm back at work today for a few hours and will work until I get tired and build my strength back. I have sent my records to MD Anderson in Houston and am waiting to see if I fit into any of their programs. The Cyberknife was unusable in my situation so there are no more treatments that I can try. My Oncologist has definately tried them all !!!
I feel somewhat better, but am still very weak. Hate using a cane but it stabilizes me...and gives me something to protect me from all the lovely ladies..HA
I'm still not done yet, but this has been a real trial for me.

Tommy,

So good to hear from you - I was wondering how you were doing.

BUT - what in the world are you doing at work!!! After losing that much weight you should be resting and gaining strength without work in the picture. When I had my abscess and drain I was so weak for two weeks I could barely walk around the house ......

Having said that - I would be at work too (I love my job...) - if it were closer to me, my drive is an hour away .........so maybe you are close to work???? If so - then ok for a FEW hours if you LOVE IT AND MISS IT!!!

If not - then get out of there and go play the trumpet!!!
I am so sorry to hear of this setback - with cancer - STUFF HAPPENS....don't you just hate it - but you must put it behind you now and focus on your goal of getting into Anderson.

We are all praying for you
Cheers
