OK, I know it's a weird subject title but:

Last Sunday, I went over to my parents' to watch TV with my dad (as usual--Big Brother!!!) and I thought I might want to be more comfortable so I brought my robe--it's long and is a light lavender.

I forgot about it when I left and left it there. I figured my mom would wash it (like she does everything!) and I would eventually get it back.

Well, the other night, I walked in the house and looked at my dad and he was wearing--my robe Shocked

Apparently it is perfect for him--lightweight, so not too hot, but keeps the drafts away, and they can put it on the chair and sit him in the chair and then put his arms through the sleeves and wrap it around him.

My sister thought I had brought it for him!

So, anyway, I ordered one for him from Lands' End--in Navy Blue! It is a woman's robe but it is stretchier and longer than any of the men's robes.

If any of y'all think you or your loved one might benefit from one--here is a link to what it is. (I bought mine several years ago, but they still sell them!)

Now, I am laughing because it says "New" but I know that is my robe!

And the model is wearing the same color as mine so you can imagine how funny it was to see my dad wearing it!

And he knew it was funny too! Laughing

And in the end, I am just glad that there is something I can buy for him that he will find useful and that will bring him some small comfort.

Plus, I might get mine back! Wink

Ckim,

Hahaha -- that was so CUTE. We all feel so darn helpless that whatever we can do to help them makes us feel so good. My husband took a shine to those pajama pants that the kids all wear for nightime. After my kids found that out, he was deluged on every birthday and Christmas with more of them from the kids. He had so many pairs!

Glad to hear a little bright spot for you and your Dad. You're a good kid!
