Even though Mom is 95, she never slept this much before the diagnosis and asking her to do a bioipsy. Since then, she's slept on and off ALL day long.

Her appetite has dropped significantly too. Since she lives with me, I know how she was eating before. She's eating about 1/2 of what she was eating before.

I'm scared. Her home health nurse said if it'd spread to I "think she said" was the bronchial tube, she could go fast.

I don't know whats going on with all the sudden sleeping. I don't know if its stress, or she's giving up, or what.

Sept 2ond (3 days ago) she said she wanted a chance at this, and would do the biopsy, and radaition. She understood radaition was 5 days a week for a month.

She's also been sleeping 12 hours at night, the past 3 days too.

She hasn't mentioned the pain anymore. And hasn't been using the heating pad on her back, so I know she's not hurting, and no Advil or Tynol.

All this has started going on since we saw the Oncologist Tuesday. Lotta sleep, and little food. I been pushing Ensure at her in the morning, and made her a shake with Ensure tonight (after she didn't eat much dinner).

Someone please shed some light here. I know I will loose her sooner or later, but I like to know what IS going on, and what to expect.

Hi bnot; I cannot help you out with any answers. I will be watching to see what you find out. It could be anything. Could be depression. It is hard to say. Best of luck to you.

bnot,

I don't have a clue either, unless it is simply the shock of the diagnosis and she's withdrawing as a way of coping with the news.

I hope things turn around for her. Has she started the radiation?

Take care and let us know how she is doing.

Hugs,
PBJ

PBJ, we have an appointment Tuesday with the doc that will do the biopsy. I suppose he'll tell us what he'll do then schedule it then.

So we still don't know what type it is yet. Oncologist says no radaition till they find out for sure what type it is.

HI Bnot;
I'm so sorry for yours and your mom's situation I know these are hard times to go through, so many things are unknown as yet. There is always a chance for turn around even though at her age it is harder still, but it is out of your control in many respects, your on the ride though and likely feel very responsible for things. All we can do is hold it up to God and see how he leads us through it. My prayers are with you Bnot.
God Bless
Dan
