Mom's biopsy is scheduled for Sept 22ond. Then it'll take 2 more weeks to get the results. Thats almost a month from now Evil or Very Mad

Mom's 95, but a young 95, lol.

I did get more info from this doc. Its in the lower lobe of the left lung. There is also some enlarged limp nodes behind her aorta. They are hoping to get a part of the ones close to the aorta, so they won't have to go through her lung, and risk collapse at her age.

Said they will go down her esophagus, and worse case have to go through her back.

We really liked the doctor. He has good bedside manners and a sense of humor. He really listened to her and seemed quite interested in hearing what all she had to say (at 95!).

So looks like we're still a month away from knowing whats going on. This has been going on since late July.

Hi bnot,
You are not alone in the waiting game. It took 3 full months from finding the tumor until surgery for my husband. I thought I would go mad with waiting. The one thing I did do was to be politely pushy. A biopsy usually doesn't take two weeks, more like 5 working days. I would call the doctor's office and if you can't directly speak to the doctor himself sometimes the nurse or physician's assistant will tell you the results. Can't hurt to inquire!
Good luck with your mom, I applaud her courage.
Peace,
Onecoyote

Thanks for the tip, I won't wait 2 weeks to call for results! They don't tell you that part. I suppose they don't want you bugging them on day 5, lol.

How is your hubby doing?
