Hello everyone. I am 29 years old and mym om was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in Feb. I have been looking for different ways to express how I feel...but nothing makes me feel like I have "relieved" anything...if that makes sense. She hd a craniotomy and they excised the tumor completely but it is cancer. She has been going through radiation for 6 weeks and just completed it. She is supposed to start double chemo next week. She has been doing single chemo for 8 weeks. I guess I am here because I want to talk to people that know how I feel....maybe i can help you too. |

| My mom had a brain tumor removed in January. It was a result of lung cancer that had spread. She actually came out extremely well from the surgery, but developed something call "expressive aphasia" after radiation, which turned out to be temporary, where she had difficulty exprssing what she wanted to say, the words would not come out right. Good luck with the chemo, it was very debilitating for my mom, also good luck to you and my prayers are with you |

| I've been down that road twice, 02 and 05, and it's really hard to pick myself up and move on but the important thing is to stay positive and don't give up. For me I couldn't of handled the sutation without my family behind me. I just completed 25 days of high dose chemo in april, and will undergo radiation soon. I hope for the best for you both, Sac and Mexybug! I always remind myself and say a prayer at night, which is "Good mind, body, and spirit, long life, happiness, and peace!" |

| I hear you. I am in the same boat as well. Im 34 years old and my mom has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. It was excised but she still on her 4 round of chemo. She's in and out of the hospital and I still try to be hopeful and positive. I give myself 2 hours a day just cry my guts out so the rest of the day is mine. I dont really know if its good or not but it helps me to function on some level. Thank you for starting this thread, I feel like I'm not totally alone in this. . .Be well. |

i know this is a very difficult time.....
i just lost my dad to prostate and liver cancer in april.
i still cry at the drop of a pin. i miss him so much. it helps to talk to others who are going through the same thing. it was described to me as "membership in a club that we never wanted to join." isn't that the truth. my only advice is to say everything you need to say. make sure she knows how much you love her. reassure her everyday that she is going to be okay no matter what happens and so will you. use all resources available. i will pray for you! |
