Hello, I recently had a leep procedure that discovered adenocarcinoma of the cervix. I just got health insurance and hadnt been to a gyn for about 3 yrs. My doctor is sending me to a cancer specialist, but I am really worried in the mean time. I would like to know if my chances are good for survival? Do I just need to have a hesteroctmy? He said it was focal on my uteris. Thank you.

Hello

Depending on how invasive the cancer is, it is possible that you might have to have a total hysterectomy. In early stages, the chance of cure from cervical cancer is really good. But your doctor will stage your disease to see how disseminated it is and formulate an appropriate plan.

Good luck ! regards,
Leo

I have just been diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I have been have spotting going on since late May and by the time I made it through all the docotors and tests, I just found out this news a week ago. I believe it is in an early state as my GYN doctor though there was no problem but did a biospy to check on the polyp she found. Sonogram showed a thickened lining which was even all the way around but didn't show the polyp until the biospy. The polyp came back clean but the endometrial lining came back postive. I'm acared of course and would appreciate anyone who has had anything similiar. Bubba8
