I realize that what I am about to ask is insignificant to what many on this forum are working through. So forgive me, I don't mean to sound like a baby! I had a mole removed last year... benign. Two weeks ago, I had two more removed... one pre-cancerous (although I dont' know what kind of cancer), and one benign. This morning I had two more removed. I am VERY moley! Here are my questions... since I am so moley, how in the world does the dermo know which to investigate? For instance, one he removed this morning appeared perfectly normal to me... regular shape, light brown, although it was large (about 5mm across). The other was very small, but also smooth, and darker. I now have to wait for biopsy results again. I have so many moles... where to draw the line? I'm beginning to look like swiss cheese

Your dermatologist may just be removing moles from different areas since you had one with atypical cells. When they say pre-cancerous, it doesn't mean cancer (there is no cancer type). It just simply means cells are abnormal and have the possibility of becoming a skin cancer. Since you have had one with abnormal cells, it's a good idea to keep an eye on your moles and trust your doctor. I've had so many removed as well, but I'm thankful because early detection is key. Swiss cheese or not, you are healthy and that's what is most important! Good luck!
