:? I have a pin-head size spot on the left hand side of my throat which keeps on coming and going (during the past 3 months approx.). Sometimes it has vanished of it's own accord, while on a couple of occasions I have scratched it and it has vanished leaving a slightly larger indentation. Then after a few days it's back again.
This is worrying me mainly because I nursed my mother through Cancer of the Oesophagus and lymph glands 5 years ago. Mum described an obstruction in her throat initially until a little later she was unable to swallow.
I think that I'm probably being idiotic, as I don't believe that it would vanish at any time whether scratched or not. Whatever, I feel so worried about it that I'm too uptight to consult my doctor.

posts like yours worry me...why would you hesitate seeing a doctor?
I myself always postpone seeing a doctor but if I am scared enough to have to look here, then you have a valid reason to have it checked out!

You have my sympathies..but please call a doctor
Only then will you know how to relieve or face your situation
I wish you the best..please let us know how you make out

Thanks for the post. I agree with you I must brace myself and go there as soon as possible having left it so long. Writing this post actually galvanized my thoughts a little, now you have underlined them. Thanks.

I have been to the doctors' and he has told me that he feels that it is something that needs further investigation. Consequently I have to see my dentist at 2.45p.m. on Monday with a view to having a biopsy. Apparently whatever happens in your mouth is the concern of your dentist and not your doctor.
