I'm only 14, and I found a lump on the left side of my vulva. It's close to the surface and it's not any odd color at all.. but its kind of scaring me... It only hurts very, very little if you touch it. How much of a chance is there that it could be cancer? What else could it be? If I need to get it checked out, I don't know how to bring it up to anyone. Somebody please, please help me...

Hi xshatteredwings:

Just ran across your posting, and I feel you should tell your mother or a school counselor and they will likely help you to get this checked out. It may end up being nothing to be concerned with, but its best to get it checked out by a doctor. I can understand your fears, but getting examined by a doctor will give you the answers you need, and if its something that needs to be treated---the sooner you address it, the better. Take care, and let me know how it turns out.
