My sister (see recent post) was just diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer, all of our family members are naturally worried and want to do everything to help her.
Unfortunately, my health has been poor for the last year and a half. I have suffered with persistent pain in my lower abdomen, tail bone area and both hips. At night the pain is worse, and in the morning my bowels are loose and I have alternating episodes of diarhrea and constipation. I have visisted my doctor on numerous occasions, she diagnosed me with IBS. I had a CA125 blood test and an ultrasound. The CA125 was negative and the ultrasound showed what my doctor calls "fibroid cysts." I have had 4 or 5 "severe" cramping episodes which are accompanied with a fever, sweating, doubling over for about 20 mins. I was just given results from a CAT Scan, my left ovary shows cysts, my cervix is enlarged, my liver has some lesions. There were traces of blood in my urine.
Is this consistent with a diagnosis of IBS? I've been referred to a gynecologist from the emergency room dept. They didn't think my symptons were a result of IBS, but possibly ovarian cancer.
Can anyone give me some advice? Question Question Question
Sincere thanks.......
