Well, latest update after visiting with the oncolygyst..my sister is scheduled beginning Oct 31. for chemo.
They're starting with concurrent radical treatment, consisting of the first day, 2 drugs, cisplatin & VP16 Etoposide. They said the first day will be about 6 hours, not sure how long the actual chemo treatment will be though. The following 4 days will be one drug. She's slated for 3 months of treatment in conjunction with radiation....no surgery options at this time. The oncolygst believes the tumours in her lung are malignant, contrary to the pathology report given a couple of weeks ago.
I did some research on these drugs, and I have to admit, I don't like what I have discovered. My sister is willing to go through the regime for now, as she's more that eager to try what is recommended.
Her journey has just begun........anyone have info on this combination of drugs? Can she include natural sources which will build her immune system? Anyone here used sources to enhance their immune system such as Reishi, melatonin, Ahcc's?????? Anyone with some realistic hope to offer? Any straight info would be much appreciated.
