I'm not sure how to begin this, but I am a 21 year old male with no health insurance. About 6 months ago I began coughing blood and black stuff. Since then I have had breathing problems, loss of appatite and weight, no energy, and recently my kidneys and liver have been bothering me. The last time I went to a doctor, I felt like I was not treated with the fullness that someone with insurance would've gotten and the doc said that it was "nothing to worry about". Many people on my fathers side of the family have had some form of cancer (my father died of cancer when i was 12). I was wondering if whats going on with me sounds familiar to anyone and if anyone knows of a good, but low cost health insurance plan for something like this.Any response will be appreciated.

Hi... I hope that you feel better.
Did the doctor who told you that you are fine run any tests to you that he looked at? If not, maybe you should try again to find a better doctor and run some tests. I could not give you advice on what to do with your insurance issue, because I live in Greece and I don't know what you could do at your country, but there must be a solution for you.
The only suggestion I could make would be not to try to diagnose yourself alone, or by listening to people's opinions. It could all be missleading. Try to find a way to run the tests.
I hope that everything will turn out fine,
Mandy

If you are truly conserned that it is Cancer, but you haven't been offically "diagnoised" with cancer, you should still be able to qualify for coverage.

I would strongly suggest getting some insurance BEFORE you get a second opinion, and AFTER you have gone through the necessary waiting period, unless it's a medical emergency, of course.

Hope this helps,

SFTC
