Hi,
I have recently been diagnosed with melanoma. I have not yet been told what stage, but have been told that chemo is in my future. My question to you all is this:
Knowing what you do now about the effects of chemotherapy, if you had a week or two before it started and were in good health, what would you do?
Vacation isn't an option at the moment because of all of the diagnostic appointments, but beyond that give me your ideas. I want to make the most of these next few weeks.

Hi,
One of the first things I did was to call my dentist and ask them if I could have the first cancellation so I could get my teeth cleaned. It's important to start chemo with "good" teeth, nice and clean.
Hope this helps. |

now thats the kind of answer I needed. I was wondering about that. I had heard somewhere, sometime, something about teeth problems with chemo but couldn't ever find any info on it.
I thought i was going nuts |

Hey,
You know i am only fourteen, but my aunt was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and she did Chemotherapy the few weeks before she had Chemotherapy she just spent the time comforting her family. She didnt want to live her life any different. She was only 34 with four kids. My grandpa pased away 5 years ago due to Melonoma... because he didnt take Chemotherapy. But i wish you luck, i would want to spend as much time as possible with my loved ones, and i would want to gain courage to go into the Chemotherapy.
Good Luck,
Amanda, 14, |
