Hello Replicant,

I chatted with the Udoc about the notion that high Gleason grade cancers show a lower PSA. His answer was "yes". He went on to say that with a high Gleason grade cancer, the cells are highly differentiated. He said that the PSA does go through a relative quickly significant rise. Then it drops to almost normal. But, he said "by this time the patient will know something is seriously wrong. I guess this is because the cancer cells are now very different than regular prostate cells.

I also queried him on why my PSA has went from 2.5 in 2004 and rise to 5.6 then I had a negative biopsy and my PSA was about 4. Then on my next PSA of 6.5 and another negative saturation biopsy.... PLUS..... a bad fPSA and now my PSA is 2.5 , which he says is normal for me.

He said he sees some patients that have this fluctuating PSA and they do not have cancer. He said my I probably had a chronic inflammation of my Prostate, but my body healed it itself. He said that fluctuating PSA can be caused by simple exercise or other activities. He also says that there is some questions that he cannot answer, because they just don't know.

He goes on about there are still much ambiguity in PSA testing.
He says that right around the corner they will have a test that is much more accurate, but he did not elaborate.

By the way, he says he had a PC patient that has a PSA of 40,000.
The highest he has seen (?). And yes, the guy is still living.

Anyway, I'm just posting this in case it can help someone else with a
decision related to their current status.

Chris
