I had robotic RP on Tuesday(08/26/2008) and left the hospital on Wednesday. While at home I have been communicating with the surgeon by email. This has been of great value and comfort to me as he has been very responsive to my emails. I would encourage everyone in my situation to request their docs to communicate in this fashion. It's very hard to get people on the phone, especially doctors, and one often has to communicate through a third person. Of course, it all depends on the doc, but mine has been really great.

I am sure that cancer prostate treatment success is strongly influenced by patient and physician personal relationship. You need all support to be optimistic, this is the best way to cope the disease.
