Hey,

I've just joined but have been reading these forums and appreciate the support and kindness you women offer each other.

Hope you can help me out here.

I have endometriosis so haven't had my ongoing problems investigated as I have been putting everything down to "Oh, that's just my endometriosis."

Anyhow recently had 3 weeks heavy bleeding so went to the doc and I had an ultrasound which showed a huge fibroid, two cysts on my left ovary, a polyp on the uterus and another area at the fundus? that they THINK might be a polyp but are not sure. PLUS my endometrium is 15 mm thick (at mid cycle this was) and my CA125 was 43. SHould I be worried or what?

My worst symptoms are just after my period when my body is starting to ovulate I guess. Most months for the last 10 years or so I have flu-like symtpoms including incredible tiredness beyond normal tiredness - like I have to lie down as my head feels like a brick and my eyes feel heavy. Headaches, diarrohea, stomach cramps to the point of being on the floor sometimes with the pain, fever, just feeling blah and dizzy and foggy. I did go to a gyno several years ago about this 'after period sickness' as I now call it and he fobbed me off and told me I was low in iron after my period but I take iron tablets so knew this was incorrect. These symptoms can lust from 3-7 days every month!

I'm trying to get in to see a gyno now but don't know when my appt will be as the wait is long.

Anyone have suggestions re what my results could be or anyone had this WEIRD "AFTER PERIOD SICKNESS" as i call it? It's been the bane of my life for years but I've just learnt to live with it i guess.

Thanks and all the best with your health issues as well.

Hi aussiegal,

Welcome to the forum! Very Happy It is hard to speculate on your symptoms. I am a twin and my twin had endometriosis and I was diagnosised with cancer three years ago. Both of us had a thickening of the endometrial lining with two very different outcomes. Both of us experienced great fatigue and pain, and I think a lot of it came from anemia induced blood loss. We both had multiple fibroids, and I had ovarian cysts, I am not sure about her having cysts. I am not real sure about the after period sickness, but I would cramp before and after my normal cycle even as a very young woman. Perhaps someone else can shed more light regarding their cycles here.

It may very well be symptoms from endometriosis. It does not necessarily mean cancer, BUT cancer needs to be totally ruled out! I went what I believe to be years undiagnosed, severely anemic, even fainting at times, going to emergency rooms, and totally blown off by doctors--- even two OBGYNs erroneously assumed it was all just fibroids! You must pursue answers to this until you know exacting what is going on, and I know my words seem cheap not to worry, but try not to. Most of the time its NOT cancer in such cases, but because cancer is so devastating, it needs to be eliminated as a possibility by medical professionals. You will be in my prayers, and let us know when you can be seen, and what happens from there.

God Bless,

Rhonda
