I wanted to give a personal apology to everyone for my absence recently on this board. No slight was intended to either the old-timers or newcomers. (It's up to you to figure out which category you fit into! Laughing )

Sometimes I need a bit of a respite, as I'm still struggling through my first year of "firsts" without my dear husband. I get into slumps and my family and kids jump all over me about "hanging around lung cancer boards." Wink (Yes Mary, a "rut" is what I was definitely in and trying hard to pull out of.)

Please know that all of you remain in my prayers --- I ask God for comfort for the things that he knows you need during these times of shock, stress, pain, and grieving.

Thank you so much to those who have commented or pm'd -- you'll never know how much your kindness means to me. (Oh dear, tearing up now. Crying or Very sad ) My admiration for all who are in this struggle -- whatever stage -- is huge. It's a wonder how the human soul can reach heights that we never dreamed we could reach before we encountered this diagnosis for either ourselves or a loved one.

I would really like to hear some news from EFP as you've also been noticeably absent my dear! (I'm still firmly engaged in my bad habits. Wink )

So -- give me some time to play catch-up with all of your posts and forgive me my absence.

Hugs to all,
PBJ

Dear PBJ-

No apologies needed! I find it simply amazing how you and all the other wonderful admins take so much of your time and energy to support all of us on these boards.

I apologize to you for not reaching out with a PM. I noticed your absense and wondered, but didn't follow up on that feeling and check in with you. I wish I had!

You are in my prayers too, as you go through this first year without your dear husband.

Take care...

Liz

Glad to have you back PBJ
Always glad to hear from you fellow cancer forumholic.
This is the best way to handle stress for me, better than drinking but nothing wrong with a nice wine at the right time, lol. I was not sure how to respond to the drinking poll, for I do feel like drinking at times my self. I had my wife's lap top with me on my two week trip to New York and was blessed that a neighbor had a wireless router I could use via my Aunts house, to stay up to date with the Cancer Forum. Thanks again for all your input.
God Bless
Dan

You were gone???? Didn't notice hehehe. I was wondering were you were off to. Take all the time you need. The forum will wait but you need to time away from time to time. All of us do.

Everyone has to do what is important in their life or family to get thru all of this. PBJ, glad you realized you were in a rut as that alone can help you get on track. It just takes time and things will fall together.

This board is somewhat tough to read. Sort of bittersweet. It has the highest highs and the lowest lows. I go thru and read recently of so many that have passed on. Then I come to someone that is now showing NED and it is so uplifting.

This would be a difficult message board to moderate opposed to many of them. It is so rewarding to all the people like myself that come here and have no clue what cancer is really about. To be here everyday has to take certain kinds of people.

PBJ, You do what you have to. Everyone needs a break at times.

This is a good time for me to thank everyone here who has contriubuted input for me. Especially to Jim and to PBJ who really helped me. Thanks,

Hi PBJ! I guessed pretty much exactly why you weren't posting (tho I was hoping it was that you were relaxing on the French Riviera Wink ) and figured I'd help give you a rest from the World of Lung Cancer. Anyway, I'm still here and I'm really sorry if I worried you. And it's good to have you back, even if it's not the greatest place for you to be. Be well.

PBJ

As a "newcomer" I want to take the time to let you know how much the work you do on the forum is appreciated. Not only for the replies you give to me, but to all the posts I read. I have to "turn off" occasionally myself. I send to a HUGE ((((((((HUG))))))))))))) and also I lift your name up in prayer. I wish I could say or do more.

In His Service,

Hi --

Thanks for all the beautiful sentiments expressed, they are all sincerely appreciated. It wasn't my intent to elicit these responses. I felt like a weenie and guilty about suddenly dropping out of sight with no excuses. I didn't intentionally do it, just kind of happened.

Heck, I drop out of my own sight sometimes! Shocked

French Riviera --- LOL. You're a hoot EFP!!

Hugs to all,
PBJ
