Hi
Here is my story, I m 28 M, healthy, however 3 months ago I had really bad pain in lower left side of my stomach, where sigmoid colon is, I went to ER, they did some stuff and told me nothing is wrong. I was still in pain..
went to my MD, He ordered kidney test ( IVP I believe), camee normal, followed by Pelvic CT scan and chest CT. Normal as well, all blood/liver panels are normal as well, I am still in on/off pain, I changed the doc, then new said I should get a Upper GI, I did, Hernia was reported.
Well since 2 weeks I start seeing blood in stool, I going to see doc monday and will demand a scope, I didnt thought about cancer till I saw blood and now I am freaking, I have one question , all recent IVP/CT(2 of them)/2 chest X-ray/blood work, all normal, so if it is cancer, you think its treatable? or I still can have very late stage? please help |

Have you been taking any antibiotics for anything recently? If yes then it MIGHT be clostridium toxin (thats bacteria overgrowing in the gut). They do cause blood in the stools. See my posts.

My DH has had the same symptoms as you and we too were thinking it was cancer. However we are not "freaking out" because my father has had colon cancer and he has survived very well. Colon cancer can be cured easily if it is caught early enough.
I was going to suggest checking your appendix (because you said lower left) but that does not cause any blood on the stools.
