Hi all, I need some opinions. I had cervical/uteral cancer and a hysterectomy in 1994. I did not complete full treatment because of the side effects. I had routine blood test, (CEA) and remained in the normal range. I have not been tested in many years, (appox 5 yrs) I have been healthy and vibrant. In the last three years I have had many episodes of adominal pain and the dr says it was just an ovarian cyst, (ultrasounds/ct to validate), however, this was my only chief compliant therefore, nothing was done as it was intermitten. In the last 6 months, I have lost appox 30 lbs, (but attributed this to leaving a VERY stressful job and working in my yard more) At first this was great, but then I started feeling like I was getting "old". I tired easy, but it was more than that, I actually feel like my muscles have no strength anymore. I, again, didn't think too much of this, because of the extra activity I was doing after being unemployed. Well, cutting the story short, I became worried enough when I really felt like I was physically falling apart. My knees and hips ache, my vision seems to have gotten worse, I can't seem to focus mentally alot of times, I bruise easy, I have chills and sweats and my muscles seem to be getting weeker everyday. I feel like I have aged 20 years in 6 months.

I went to the dr and she ran some bloodwork. All came back within normal range, kidney, liver, pancreas, etc, except the CEA. It was abnormal and elevated (tumor marker 5.9). My dr ordered a CT and I have just gotten those results. they are as follow: "1.0 cm, .6 cm and 1.9 cm low attenuation lesions located in the dome of the right lobe of the liver, but are too small to characterize, could be hemangiom or hepatic cysts. Everything else looks normal." Also found was a "3.1 cm right ovarian cyst, increased size in comparison of Nonenhanced CT 1/26/06 1.3 cm right ovarian cyst."

My dr seems to have taken the "back seat" approach. She was "gung-ho" and ordered all these tests, but I feel she has no further interest in me, like her job is done, she can move on now. I had to contact the CT facility to get my results (done three weeks ago) after several unanswered calls to the dr. I received a letter in the mail today from her office that states "your CT was abnormal in findings, an appointment has been scheduled for a specialist who will be handling your continued care"

What does all this CT report stuff mean, anyone know? I don't even know whether to be worried or not.....I try not to worry until I have reason to be, but I have never been told you may have something wrong, but I'll let someone else figure it out.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - Doctors are sometimes very insensitive to the fears of their patients. The reports appear to show that you have some kind of cysts on the liver, as well as an ovarian cyst. These could be what are making you feel so tired all the time. The letter tells you that she has taken action in contacting a specialist [though apparently not which kind] which will take you into a new round of investigation and possible treatment.

It is almost impossible not to worry about CT results that say something can be seen. But try not to worry too much - at the moment the cysts look reasonably benign.

Keep in touch and let us know what happens.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your worry and concern.

We have all said it to someone else before, but please try to relax as much as you can and not stress too much.

I'd get into contact with your Dr to find out who? what sort of specialist? when and where appointment is? Keep onto it and hound if need be. Or find another DR to refer you to someone.

Good Luck and let us know what happens.

Hi,

you should also start eating and drinking healthy products>
Vegetable juices are very good. For liver 5 carrots, 1 beet and 1/3 of cucumber every morning before food>
This juice helps to clean your liver>
you should take immune system boosters as well

Good luck,
