I have almost all symptoms of ovarian cancer except the cysts. Do you have to have cysts on your ovaries in order to have ovarian cancer?

Hi blackraven, I am moving your post to the Ovarian Cancer Forum below because you might receive better, informed input there than in this general forum.

Have you seen a doctor yet? If not, that is the first thing you should do. He/she can do a full work-up on you and give you much better information about your condition than we can.

Hi everyone, I'm writing again because I didn't really tell my story...About 3 months ago i had severe pelvic pain like when I used to get PID...I was given antibiotics and cultures were taken and I had a transvaginal ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that I had a fibroid but the Dr. said it was really nothing..I developed diahhrea due to the antibiotics and had to stop one because I was alergic to one...I finished the other. On the last day of the second antibiotic..I got extreme pain and called the gyno..He said really this was probably a GI problem not gyn. I told him the pain was getting worse andI may go to the hospital...He just said ok...Fortunately the pain died down and I went to another gyno...She felt this was a GI problem as well. In the meantime my diarhhrea never stopped from the antibiotics...I went to a primary care physician and he said I have alot of loose ends and He referred me to th GI guy. When I went to see him he gave me an examination and said I see nothing wrong with you, you don't even have to get a colonoscopy. All along this time I still had diarrhea. I began taking Activia and things started to get better...However, back came the pelvic pain. I am perimenopuasal so I haven't had a period since Oct. so I don't have bleeding symptoms and I don't have intercourse at this time so I wouldn't know about bleeding after sex...I go by the pelvic pain, bloating, backache, extreme fatique, nausea sometimes and now and then fulness loss of appetite and nausea...I am so frustrated by these Drs. they won't listen to me or tell me what to do. I hate to bring this up but I'm bipolar and ...it's happened before...the Drs. won't listen to the problems I'm having...this even happened in the ER when I got my gallbladder removed...I hope and pray that someone could shed some light on this ...thank you Sad

You have listed some of the symptom of ovarian cancer in your post. I am not sure what to tell you about the doctors. I'm blessed with an amazing oncologist, a great GYN surgeon and a pretty thorough primary care physician. Maybe you just have to try another GYN - tell him/her you are there for a second opinion. Tell them you have bloating, digestive problems and pain. Ask for a CA 125 test to go with a CT scan and exam.

I'm sorry you are going through this with no help from your normal docs. Hopefully you will get some relief soon. Keep us posted.

I too am sorry that your doctors seem not to listen to you and recommend a second opinion. At the very least they should check your CA 125! Maybe they did and just did not tell you the results. Call your current GYN and ask about that.

Keep us informed. I am thinking about and praying for you. Let us hope that it is not cancer and is something that can be easily treated.
