[b]mom is currnetly on morphin in her pancreas advanced cancer ,she refused to be on chemical therapy , my question is , how long can she be out of pain using morphin ??[/b]

Sorry about your mum, From my understanding Morphin will keep her out of pain- they will rise the amount as she needs it. The only thing with that is it's easy to want more of it, and you get a little incoheriant and sleepy on it...

Someone might post a reply with more of an idea for you.

We are here for you, so feel free to post a little about you and your Mum, if it helps. I wish you both the best..

well the weird thing is tht shes on morphin , nd she aint numb or anythin , shes jst like in her old times ...

It has been my experience that morphin is used for paliative pain control closer to the time of death. I am so sorry to be so blent about it. I know how much all of what is happening with your mother must hurt your. My mother died for nine years ago due to a primary brain cancer and my father did just over a year ago due to leukemia. Both were on morphin drips during there last days. Morphin help ease my mother's respiratory problems and help with my father's pain so in both cases it did improve their quality of life during there last weeks of life.

My advice to you is to make the most out of whatever time you still have left with your mother. While you probably are too late to resolve any long term issues between the two of you (if there are any), I would encourage you to tell your mother what you need to... especially how much you love her and appreciate all that she has done for you and helped you to become.

As always, you and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers.
