I am on a business trip in Florida and I get my 3rd period that month! How embarassing that I have to ask a male friend to give me a ride to the pharmacy for supplies. He said you didn't know this was coming? I explained and he was the person to tell me that this is not normal and 2 see a doctor. I saw my doctor 4 days after arriving home. She was going 2 treat me 4 abnormal bleeding by means of endometrial ablation...they did all the prep including a pap. I scheduled the procedure but my dr called me 3 days later to tell me my pap indicated severe dysplasia and I needed to come in for a colposcopy. That biopsy revealed I had carcinoma in situ. I was referred to a gynecological oncologist at this point...very scary day! He said I had "very advanced disease" and should have a hysterectomy. I went back to my gyn and she said she had alternative...that he recommened hyster because he was a man...I believe her! I had my cervix removed, endometrial ablation and my tubes tied. Still have my uterus and ovaries and am cancer free almost 2 years later! Initially, my biopsy of cervix showed stage 1 cancer with unclear margins, but so far so good! No hysterectomies is my point, I guess! U asked me to tell my story and I did...Sept 18th is the end of my 3 month follow ups (I hope)...I have been clean up until now...I'll keep u posted
