I am trying to gather information for my 73 year old mother. She is taking care of my brother who has primary liver cancer and is declining fast. Does anyone know of any organization that helps with funeral expenses? Thank you so much in advance.

idobelieveinfairies, I am very sorry about your uncles' cancer.

Social Security will pay for a part of it if but not enough... somewhere between $400 and $500. In is right... most funeral homes will work with you, discount as much as they can and setup a payment schedule. Also, some churches have funds to help.
