Jim, how's the PSA and the preparations for IMRT?

Hey, thanks for checking in.

I go to see the local radiation oncologist in about 2 hours.

I'm a might bit concerned since my two PSA tests so far haven't shown the all clear sign:

33 days after RP: 0.12
41 days after RP: 0.10

For the second one my urologist merely noted that my PSA was "stabil." The doctors I've spoken to about it have both said that it's hard to say what my PSA should be only 5-6 weeks after an RP. In theory, though, it should be down in the noise, which to my mind isn't 0.1.

But then I saw Vigo post something about how vitamin D may affect PSA and I've been on that for months. If it extends the half life of PSA then that might explain it. But I don't know.

Anyway, if you get this and you can think of any good questions, I'd be much obliged.

Upon revisiting the vitamin D research, I learned that it's supposed to [i]lower[/i] the level of PSA, not extend the half life.
