Tonight a new member whose uncle has CLL reminded me of my father who died of ALL. For some reason, I found myself listening to Sarah Brightman on YouTube singing Phantom of the Opera and Nessum Dorma. I remember taking my father to see Sarah singing in a production of POO for his 70's birthday. I really think I enjoyed it more than he did... he would have much rather seen a Luciano Pavarotti singing Nessum Dorma  .
But tonight listening to Sarah I started crying profusely and saying to my inviable dad: "Why did you leave so soon? Why couldn't you have lived just two more years?"
I really do miss you, daddy, even though I may not have been able to express my love to you while you were still alive.

Thinking of you today & I hope the "new day" will be a bright one for you. I agree with you wholeheartedly on the sentiments on your Dad. I miss my Dad every day. The hole in my heart is not black anymore, it is filled with memories (mostly good) of my Dad's time with us.
I do love how a song brings back memories of a loved one. My Dad's fave was "hello dolly" some days I find this tune singing in my head without me even instigating it! I know my Dad is always with me.

I miss my Dad so much. I just had a birthday. This was the first birthday I have had when my Dad wasn't there. He always made sure our birthdays were so special. I was his girl and it so hard for me now that he is no longer here.
We have a Family Reunion coming up in June and he will not be there. He so enjoyed going and talking with all the family members and eating all the good food that everyone brought. This reunion will be sad because we lost two other family members around the same time as we lost my Dad. We willl have a lot of good memories of them all.
Dad I am so sorry I wasn't with you at the time you passed away. I got to tell you goodbye a few hours before you died but I just wish I had been there in your last moments on this earth. I had a letter I wanted to read to you telling you all that you meant to me. I love you Dad and I always will. |

Jim,
I hope you are doing better. Isn't it something that things like songs trigger memories of lost family members and what they meant to you.
I bet your Dad's stained glass windows were beautiful. What a wonderful memory.
