I am having my first Colonoscopy tomorrow... that means today I am drinking 4 liters of yuck Razz and probably will be gone. It is just a routine check... no symptoms of colon problems.

I am keeping a running account of my experience with this on my blog (link in my signature block) if you want to follow along.

For me, the prep was the worst part. I slept through the procedure.

I had to drink like a gallon of that stuff. At the time I had the colostomy bag. I don't know if that made it better or worst.

My family was mean to me. They brought in a bucket of fried chicken, and of course I couldn't eat. I was very hungry.

Good news: no polyps just 7 areas of diverticulitis and hemorrhoids Very Happy. Bad news: still having to run to the bathroom every 15 minutes Confused I got back home at noon, ate a little, and then it started... in fact, it is worse than yesterday. After going about 10 times in 3 hours, I called the doctor to see if this is normal and he wants a stool sample to check for an underlying infection. Since I cannot drive today and have no one to take me, I will have to wait until tomorrow to go for that test. Hopefully, it is just the food that I ate for lunch pushing the liquid that was in my small intestines out of the way.

Hi Jim - sooo glad that the news is positive and keeping my fingers crossed that it is only a temporary glitch that keeps you on the run. Tests are always so nerve-racking. Rolling Eyes

I did call the doctor's office and was told to take Imodium and if the problem continued to come into the office tomorrow. Imodium did the trick... or maybe I just ran out of fluids. In any case, I feel much better.

That is good news.

I never noticed that problem. That was one of the few advantages of having a colostomy. Now that I no longer have one, it will be interesting to see how my next colonoscopy goes when I have it next years.
